The Re-Foldering

Twelve score weeks ago our fingers brought forth on this gallery a new deviation, conceived in paper, and dedicated to the proposition that all paper has equal potential.

Now we are engaged in a great emptiness, testing whether this gallery, or any gallery, so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great neglected page of that vacuum. We have come to dedicate a portion of that page, as a final resting place for that which here was folded that that page might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate... We can not consecrate... We can not hallow this ground. The brave papers, unfolded and folded, who sit here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to favorite or +watch. The world will little note, nor long remember what we post here, but it can never forget what was folded here. It is for us the animate, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfolded paper which they who folded here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from this old paper we take increased inspiration to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that this paper shall not have been folded in vain - that this paper, under the trees of Mother Nature, shall have a new birth of folding - and that the gallery of the origami, by the origami, for the origami, shall not perish from the web.
